Who
Are We
We are a small, volunteer-run 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to make mental health accessible, relatable, and community-powered. We give people science-backed and engaging mental health resources they can immediately put into practice.
Through our skills-focused podcast (Spill Your Guts), downloadable infographics, community events, and workplace trainings, we deliver practical, evidence-based tools and relatable stories for a fresh perspective on mental health.
Our Mission
Faced with a mental health system that is fragmented, expensive, and alienating for many, guts equips people with free, science-backed mental health tools they can put into practice right away. We’re not just increasing awareness, we are building a community where mental wellness becomes a shared, everyday practice.
Our Approach/Philosophy
At guts, we:
Remove financial and cultural obstacles so that low- and moderate-income adults priced out of traditional therapy can access free, science-backed mental health tools.
We shatter stigma by tackling the conversations we often avoid, sharing our own raw and real experiences alongside community members’ stories.
We make mental health tangible by teaching practical skills through weekly podcasts, community events, workplace trainings, and digital guides.
Our Vision
We envision a future where mental health support is free and woven into the fabric of daily life. We also want to center the voices of people in communities who have historically been excluded from mental health care. Stigma, past trauma, and lack of resources can make it hard to ask for help or find support that really fits. We want to turn barriers into bridges: creating welcoming spaces, offering free and inclusive resources, and building real connections to reshape the mental health landscape for everyone.
Our Values
We believe that talking about mental health takes guts. It requires vulnerability, strength, and a willingness to face uncomfortable truths. We embrace the discomfort because we know that having these conversations is essential for growth and healing. We value the courage it takes to share your story and to trust your instincts, knowing that every step toward mental health requires a little "guts."

-
We always try to be open, honest, and human. We embrace our imperfections, share our struggles, and meet people with empathy and authenticity.
It’s about connecting deeply by staying transparent and truthful, whether we’re teaching a new skill, sharing our journey, or listening to community feedback.
In our day-to-day practices, we talk about the hard stuff directly, give kind and honest feedback, and show up as our full selves.
-
We believe mental health isn’t something you have to face alone. We’re passionate about bringing mental health into everyday communities and creating spaces where everyone feels supported and empowered. Through gatherings, workplace events and shared moments, we aim to help people feel less isolated, normalize conversations, and make mental health something we do together. Community isn’t just who we serve, it’s what we build.
Being together also means being accessible to all, and we truly value this. We know mental health is deeply affected by social, cultural, and systemic issues. We will always listen, reflect, and improve so our work keeps getting better for all.
-
We share science-backed tools and skills you can trust. Mental health matters too much for guessing; we rely on the research to give you resources that actually help.
At the same time, we deeply respect wisdom from cultures and traditions often left out of mainstream studies. There’s more than one way to heal, so we love bringing in voices and practices from many different backgrounds.
We also know that trust is built on reliability. That’s why we’re an organization you can count on. We show up when we say we will, share the best we have, and always follow through.

Learning about mental health doesn’t have to feel boring, it can be engaging and even fun. In our work, we bring passion, enthusiasm, and genuine love. We’re both professional and playful in spirit and would love for you to join! Our goal is for our work to feel both informative and inspiring. We also want you to feel inspired to speak openly, push stigma aside and start conversations that lead to real change.
