Community Events

Mental health shouldn't be something you have to navigate alone.

That’s why we partner with community organizations to host free events so people can connect, learn, and try one practical, science-backed skill at a time. These gatherings welcome adults from all backgrounds and create supportive spaces where we can challenge stigma, let go of shame, and learn tools many of us were never taught.

While not a replacement for therapy, they offer a meaningful starting point for an ongoing mental health journey.

How is this helpful?

Our community events are powerful spaces to talk openly about mental health and reduce stigma. We share practical tools and expert tips so everyone leaves feeling understood and ready to take small, doable steps toward feeling better.

Healing is far easier done in community, and we believe this kind of support should be easy to access in our everyday lives.

“guts recently presented a ‘Tools for a Calmer Mind seminar’ for older adults at our Senior Center…I asked to bring a seminar to our community to help older adults who experience anxiety and worry, and it exceeded my expectations. The content of the seminar was excellent and Jenn created a welcoming, safe, friendly environment. She shared anecdotal stories that helped her connect with the participants and provided multiple science-backed tools that attendees could easily implement toward feeling more calm, present, and in control…Attendees immediately asked if Jenn would offer another seminar soon.”

“guts is the real deal. They share practical, science-backed tools that people can apply to their everyday lives. It’s not surface-level advice. It’s thoughtful, evidence-based guidance that resonates. Having an organization like guts in the community matters. They're breaking down stigma, making tough conversations approachable, and giving access to mental health resources for those who might not otherwise have them.” - Kara Brown, Workbar

Our Impact

Living Well, Staying Connected

In early 2026, with support from the Christine Gallery Benefit Grant through Emerson Hospital, we partnered with local Councils on Aging to deliver Living Well, Staying Connected, a multi-session mental health education series for older adults. We evaluated participant feedback to better understand what worked, what participants learned, and how programs like this can support accessible community mental health.
